"The Red House" by Jamie Wyeth

"The Red House" by well-known American painter, Jamie Wyeth, is a painting of a house on Monhegan Island, Maine. In the early eighties, I attended a couple of painting workshops on Monhegan Island. This beautiful painting instantly brings back wonderful memories.

"Calypso III" by Patrick Coffaro

It's hard for me to select my favorite Patrick Coffaro print, because I have many favorites. I am a very big fan of this Chicago born painter-printmaker, especially his colorful cactus and desert scenes, so I will be featuring him again sometime in the near future.

"Rose Meditative" by Salvador Dali

Salvador Dali was a Spanish painter who lived from 1904 - 1989. I was very surprised to come across this print and discover that it is from his oil painting dated 1958. It is so different from his Surrealist paintings for which he is so famous. A real beauty!

"Chamisa Path" by William Hook

William Hook is another one of my favorite contemporary artists. I especially love his paintings of Northern New Mexico, which really capture the beauty and ambience of the area. One of these days, I would love to enroll in one of his painting workshops!

"The Sleeping Gypsy" by Henri Rousseau

I love this painting, "The Sleeping Gypsy" (1897) by Henri Rousseau. Rousseau was a French painter who lived from 1844 - 1910. The childlike quality of his work earned him the reputation as one of the most notable of the "Naive" artists. I love the color, simplicity and mystery of this one.

"Point Lobos" by Mikki Senkarik

Mikki Senkarik is one of my favorite contemporary artists. Her beautiful, colorful, and serene paintings take me to other places I want to be! I had the opportunity to meet her several years ago and she is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I also had the chance to see some of her originals in a Santa Fe gallery a few years ago and they were simply breathtaking!

"The Flower Seller" by Diego Rivera

This is my absolute favorite painting by Diego Rivera. Diego Rivera was a beloved Mexican painter and muralist, born in 1886. He was famously married to Frida Kahlo in 1929, who was a talented painter in her own right. I had this print in my home for many years, after seeing the original in the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, California. Beautiful!

"Oriental Poppies" by Georgia O'Keeffe

Georgia O'Keeffe is my favorite artist and has been a major inspiration for me. Born in Wisconsin in 1887, she lived a long and interesting life. Although, she had a wide range of subject matter, she is very well known for her beautiful flower paintings. "Oriental Poppies" is one of my favorites. It was painted in 1928, a year before she finally moved to New Mexico, a place she loved and lived until her death in Santa Fe in 1986.

"Irises" by Vincent Van Gogh

One of my favorite artists of all time is Vincent Van Gogh. He was born in the Netherlands in 1853. Although he lived a very short life, he produced an incredible amount of beautiful work. He only painted for the last ten years of his life, creating over 800 paintings and over 1000 drawings. Struggling with mental illness, he spent the last year of his life in a mental hospital in Saint-Remy, France. "Irises" is one of the many masterpieces he painted while he was in the asylum in the last year before his death in 1890.
