"Mediterranean Gold" by Michael O'Toole

What a beautiful painting by Canadian impressionist painter, Michael O'Toole! The colors are so warm and rich and I also love the square format. The golden glow makes it feel like a dream of someplace I would like to be.

"Quail Trail" and "Five Red Hots" by Polivka

I love these whimsical Southwestern paintings by American painter, Donna Polivka. The quail painting reminds me of a little quail family that used to walk on top of the wall in my back yard.

"Violet, Green and Red, 1951" by Mark Rothko

Mark Rothko was a Russian-born painter and printmaker, who lived from 1903 - 1970. He emigrated to the U.S. as a child in 1913. I read that this painting was created during a period of depression, but I find the intense colors and texture very satisfying to look at.
